Orange Is The New Black could be one of your favorite television shows, but there is at least one thing that makes it different than all of the other shows that you watch. That difference is the fact that it is on Netflix only. The show was launched exclusively on Netflix back in July of 2011 and has become one that is quite popular, with its third season coming up next year. The show has a good following and because of that, the show will go on.
The show is based on a book by Piper Kerman, called Orange Is The New Black: My Year in a Woman’s Prison and all of the experiences in the book. The second season began on June 6th of this year and just recently finished up leaving fans wondering if there would be a third season. Only one month later, the show was renewed for a third season and that starts up next year. The show has been nominated for 12 Primetime Emmy Awards.
While loyal fans are waiting to see what the show will bring them next season, the rumor mill has been turning out some pretty wild speculations. In the meantime, the shows creators decided to give the fans a little something for the holidays. The Christmas present came a little early and featured the cast of the popular web show singing a variation of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
The video features the main character, Piper in a place that might resemble the set of season 3 singing the song with most of the lyrics replaced to fit the show in a humorous way. The opening line was changed to “On my first day at Litchfield, my bunkmate gave to me”, and the song continues on from there. The rest of the cast joins in for the song and sings about their experiences at Litchfield in the same manner. Vee, from the second season was not seen in the music video and that has fans speculating that she will not be in the next season.
That may be the case, but Lorraine Toussaint, who plays Vee, has been seen on the set of season three. That could be a hint that in the third season, the show is going to do some flashbacks to Vee in the second season, which is when she was supposedly found dead. The filming for the new season was started in July and should be completed by now, but Netflix has not said a word about it at this point. If history repeats itself, the third season will start in July.
