Oppo Find 7 vs. LG G3 vs. OnePlus One Review: Battle of the Underdogs

In the age of smartphones, brands such as Apple and Samsung are facing a tough challenge from a few emerging or underrated players such as LG, Oppo, Huawei, Motorola, Meizu, HTC, Xiaomi and OnePlus. This is welcome news for consumers as a host of additional options is available while making a purchase.

Today we talk about three of the best smartphones in the industry, namely the Oppo Find 7, LG G3 and the OnePlus One. Here’s how they fare against one another.

Oppo Find 7:

The Oppo Find 7 features a plastic frame with metal inserts. The phone is slightly bent at the rear end and edges, making it easier to grip. The dimensions of the smartphone are 152.6 x 75 x 9.2 mm and weighs approximately 171 grams.

The Oppo Find 7 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display sporting 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution along with 534ppi density.

The Oppo Find 7 draws power from the Snapdragon 801 chipset, Adreno 330 graphics processor and features 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone further features 32 GB of built-in storage, which is expandable via a MicroSD slot.

Oppo is currently offering Android v4.3 Jelly Bean on the Find 7, although, it is upgradable to Android v4.4 KitKat. The smartphone sports a user-friendly UI suitable to both amateurs and veteran Android users.

The Oppo Find 7 packs in a fixed 3,000 mAh battery lasting for over 24 hours on standard usage.

LG G3:

The LG G3 features a metallic-hue plastic build, which sets it apart from the competitors in its range. The general design is curved, much like the Find 7 and is easy to hold and use.

The LG G3 measures 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm and weighs a little less than 150 grams. The smartphone boasts of a 5.5-inch True-HD IPS LCD display sporting 1,440 x 2,560 pixel resolution with 534ppi density.

The LG G3 runs Android v4.4 KitKat right from the factory along with UI modifications from LG. The user experience is not as simplistic as the Find 7, although, it gets simple with time.

The LG G3 boasts of a 13MP primary camera along with a 5MP secondary camera to please the selfie-addicts.

OnePlus One:

The OnePlus One boasts of a 5.5-inch LTPS LCD display with 1,080 x 1,920pixel resolution along with 401ppi density. The OnePlus One is very close to being branded as a phablet. It draws power from a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU along with 3GB of RAM.

The device is available in 16 GB / 64 GB storage, although, it does not boast of an external SD card slot. The OnePlus One draws power from a very capable 3,100 mAh unit.
