Open World setting in Metal Gear Solid 5: Will it be successful? Gamers wait for an early 2015 release

The open-world concept, arguably an awesome one which started since the 80s, is not always needed for every genre of games. The open-world scenario requires exploring a certain map or a series of maps to discover missions and new objectives rather than following a linear storyline.

Presently, with cutting-edge hardware and the next-gen consoles, open-world seems to have become the norm for most games. The massive level of detail and information showcased in these games can be easily handled by the latest gaming rigs.

News from Kojima indicates that Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Rain will be jumping into the open-world bandwagon. However, gamers now seem to ponder whether the 5th installment of the Metal Gear Solid series needs an open-world setting.

Open-world themes are just one of the various genres that exist in the present gaming world. Although it is a great one, it is certainly not the only best thing to feature in new games. Is it really necessary for Snake to be moving from one mission to another and then tackling side-missions along the way?

GTA has proved the excellence of an open-world genre due to its huge bustling cities and various different locations, to casually explore and loiter about. Being a stealth-adventure game ‘till now’, Metal Gear Solid 5 might not pull it off in the same manner. However, riding various vehicles from one part of the world to another seems interesting at first.

Even then, the developers have not been very helpful regarding why any of it should matter in a game like Metal Gear Solid 5. While thoughts of some new gameplay options that could emerge, sounds tantalizing, it’s still not sure whether there are enough assets to make it worthwhile.

In other news, we have seen that Hideo Kojima has been quite busy sniffing out the various kinds of possible bugs for Metal Gear Solid 5. He recently shared some of his findings in his Twitter account, much to the excitement of the fans.

Hideo Kojima utilizes his pen and paper in order records all of his findings. With his recently updated Twitter photos, it seems that he has swapped his pen and paper for a modern-day tablet. While fans keep a lookout for his bug findings, it is seen that one of them includes a floating Ocelot in Mother Base itself. These are the tidbits that are keeping the fans satisfied for now.
