OnePlus Two to Come with Extra Security, Better LTE Support!

The OnePlus One was a well-received entry into the Android market for various reasons – on one hand, it featured an innovative UI design that made it very intuitive to use, and on the other, it was marketed in an original way which quickly drew lots of attention to the phone. Its exclusivity worked strongly in its favor, as it gave the phone a prominent spot in online discussions and news headlines. And now, the company is preparing for the launch of the phone’s successor, the OnePlus Two – a device which will reportedly bring even more improvements to the table.

The most obvious change in the OnePlus Two – and the one everyone expects – is in the hardware department, as the phone will be significantly improved over its predecessor, and will offer much better processing, storage capabilities and other hardware features. In addition, rumors have it that the operating system will be finely tuned to work with the phone’s hardware even better than in the original phone.

There are also reports of improved security features, such as a biometric scanner using the latest technology available on the market. This is becoming more and more common in smartphones, and it’s likely that it will become a standard feature in high-end devices at some point. Although not all users need it, it’s certainly something that can make the device a more attractive choice for users who work with sensitive data.

It could even potentially make it a good option for business users, an area where Android has been a bit under-represented lately. Of course, there are other features important to business users, but the phone already looks like an overall solid combination of specifications, so it should be able to impress relatively easily.

LTE support will likely be expanded in the OnePlus Two as well, covering more bands than the average device on the market. We can’t confirm the full range of 4G bands that will be supported by the OnePlus Two, but hopefully it will have a broad enough coverage to allow all users to comfortably use LTE where it’s available.

We don’t know yet if the new phone will be distributed in the same exclusive manner as its predecessor, or if it will be sold more freely – but we did get reports earlier that the company is looking at an open sale for the OnePlus One, which could be an indication that the second device will revert to the invite-only model. It certainly worked for the first phone, and the company now also has quite a lot of hype to back up their release, which should make for some interesting results from their marketing.
