The release of the OnePlus Two is still some time away, and it will likely be a while until we get to see the device in action – but of course, OnePlus are already starting with the hype in certain ways, preparing their fans for the upcoming device. And the company seems to be handling this job quite effectively, as they have managed to generate a lot of attention to their latest contest for the chance to win free copies of the OnePlus Two.
There are two contests specifically, called “Your OnePlus Story” and “Photo Mania 2015”, and they both give contestants a chance to win the device. The first one requires users to create their own video in which they explain their own personal OnePlus story. This means that they can talk about the phone, how it’s benefited them in their everyday life, and what features they like about it in particular.
Various aspects of the videos will be judged in the contest, from production quality to overall directing style and performance – and of course, originality. People will have to think really hard if they want to catch the attention of the judges, but of course, the phone is surrounded by a community of creative minds in the first place, so we don’t doubt that we’re going to see some interesting ideas coming up.
There is also a strict requirement for entries to be submitted in a landscape format, and they must also be shot at a 1080p resolution in the least. In the end, OnePlus themselves are going to pick their favorite video for one winner, and the community will be given the chance to vote on the other winner.
In addition, there will be eight runner-up awards that will include OnePlus gift bags, and they will have their entries included in an upcoming project by the company, which will likely be made for promotional purposes.
Those who don’t want to shoot a video but still find themselves handy with a camera don’t have to worry – the other contest, “Photo Mania 2015”, is all about still imagery and it requires users to submit their own unedited photos taken with the OnePlus One and upload them to Instagram. The pictures have to include a mention of @oneplustech, and they should also have a brief explanation of how the shot was taken exactly.
The 10 finalists in this contest will be chosen according to the number of likes their pictures get, so the community will be responsible for choosing the winner in the end. It looks like it will be a tough competition, but lots of people will be given a good chance.
