OnePlus One is Still the Only Smartphone with a Camera that Can Actually Shoot UHD and Real 4K Videos

Still, OnePlus One will be in the market for a long time, notwithstanding its throngs of satisfied users who are proud to have a flagship handset that basically has the features of other flagship smartphones at half the price.

Indicative of how the Chinese smartphone maker wants the OnePlus One to be around in the market for a long time, an incremental update based on Cyanogen OS 12 has been released for the OnePlus One which brings fixes to several issues that have hounded the smartphone and its users for quite some time.

The incremental update fixed the issues on the OnePlus One related to touchscreen sensitivity, Bluetooth connectivity particularly in several in-car systems, and MMS sending on several carriers.

Early in June, OnePlus offered a $50 discount on its current flagship smartphone. Given the features of the OnePlus One which came out with groundbreaking specifications at an affordable price, the $50 price cut was warmly welcomed by smartphone users on the hunt for a great but wallet-friendly handset

OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch 1080-pixel resolution Full HD display and is only 8.9 millimeters thick. It is powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor at 2.5GHz.

It also has a 3GB of RAM and a very generous 3100 mAH of battery. OnePlus One also boasts of a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front snapper.

  1. The ability to record in 4k on this phone is a marketing gimmick. I have a OnePlus One and the camera sharpness is so low you can only just barely tell the difference between 720 and 1080p. There’s absolutely no quality increase by recording in 4k on this phone. It just takes up more space.

Also those 13 megapixel images? They look like they’re 5 megapixels. And that’s being generous.

The smartphone world needs to understand resolution does not even come close to measuring a camera’s quality.
