The manager for the band, Simon Cowell, has also been quite pleased with how well they have been performing, and has expressed a great satisfaction in seeing them become so successful. According to him, it was a great honor to see One Direction being named the biggest act in the UK for 2014, and it’s obvious that he’s put a lot of work into promoting the band, something which is paying off quite well now.
One Direction are one of the modern examples of bands making use of the Internet and social media to interact with their fans more actively, and they’re actually quite smart in their use of social tools for this purpose. Many of the band’s fans gather online to discuss the latest development around the five boys, and there’s usually plenty to be talked about, as they aren’t very secretive about their lives as celebrities.
