Many fans were disappointed with the news of their impending hiatus. But some fans understand that the band members need to take a break and deserve some time off to enjoy their success.
That being said, 2016 wouldn’t be One Direction-less. The “Midnight Memories” singers are set to welcome the year as a band.
ABC announced on December 1 that “American Idol” alum Carrie Underwood will headline this year’s New Year’s countdown in Times Square along with Luke Bryan, Demi Lovato, Wiz Khalifa, and Charlie Puth.
Access Hollywood reports that Once Direction will be performing at the Billboard Hollywood Party in Los Angeles and will be part of the NY show via live telecast.
Meanwhile, the latest single out from One Direction’s latest album is “Infinity.” Liam Payne was the first member to share the news to his 21.4 million Twitter followers.
“Infinity” is the third single from the band’s fifth studio album following “Drag Me Down” and “Perfect.” The song was initially released as a promotional single when the boys performed at the BBC Live Lounge last September.
“Made in the A.M.” was released on November 13 and opened at No.1 in the UK and No. 2 in the US charts. “Drag Me Down,” the first single in the album, broke the record for the most streams of any song in a single week after its release.
