Perhaps this season has a chance to revive interest in “Once Upon a Time” properly, and we may see viewer numbers rising again.
The return of Cinderella might have been intended to do just that; and the producers’ recent attempts to “restore” life in Storybrooke to normal could also be seen as them trying their best to draw in their old viewers. At the same time, the show has managed to draw the attention of some new fans, from what we can tell.
There is still plenty of time to go until the end of this season, so we expect to see some interesting developments soon enough. But according to most fans, the right move for the producers right now would be to avoid making any drastic changes during this season, and let things slowly normalize.
After that, they might want to try their hand at their classic moves again. We’re as curious as the show’s fans themselves to see if the next episodes will see things getting back to normal, and the situation slowly stabilizing. If that does happen, we would also expect viewer numbers to rise by the end of the season. It’s definitely not too late to save this show yet, but it will need a special touch to restore fans’ trust after all that’s happened.
