Various changes have been lined up for “Once Upon a Time”, and it looks like the showrunners are reorganizing the cast a little, as they’ve brought Cinderella back into the picture. What’s more, it sounds like the producers want to pay a little more attention to her character this time, and we’re probably going to see some extra episodes exploring her in detail.
Fans were apparently pleased to see the return of Cinderella, responding positively to the episode. It seems to be a good move on the producers’ part, all things considered right now. And while some fans did describe the episode as a bit out of place with regards to the overall state of the story right now, the general consensus was a positive one.
However, there are some aspects of her recent development that have also struck fans as odd, especially with regards to her love live. This is something typical for the show as a whole, as it tends to take a rather strange approach to developing the romantic subplots for its characters.
Some critics have compared “Once Upon a Time” to Disney’s main works, where the studio is obviously determined to show as much romance as possible. But then again, “Once Upon a Time” has a different tone from a typical Disney work, and even though the show is based on some well-known licenses, fans shouldn’t expect its producers to follow the same style that the original stories had.
Meanwhile, some fans have been wondering about another love story on the show, the one between Hook and Emma. It’s been quite a while since something significant happened between them, and it’s good to see that the two of them will be taking things to the next level.
Once they’ve moved in together, things could significantly change in the dynamics of their relationship. Some fans even suspect that the writers might have decided to unite the characters only temporarily, in preparation for something more negative such as destroying their relationship.
Hopefully that’s not really the case though, as it would be quite the anticlimactic conclusion to the story that was developed between the two. We trust that the writers of the show know what they’re doing, even though they’ve made some questionable decisions over the years.
In fact, those questionable decisions have created a very difficult situation for them right now. The show is in a strange state, with its characters trying to adjust to a normal life but failing to figure what that even entails.
We’ve seen various drastic changes over the seasons of the show, enough that some fans decided to give up and quit. At some points, fans were genuinely questioning the direction of the show as a whole, and whether the producers had any real vision for it or not.
It did seem at some points as if the producers were leaning too heavily on major negative developments in order to keep things interesting. But after the characters have already gone through so much, it might be hard to bring them back to a normal state.
That seems to be the main point of criticism for some fans against the show right now. The producers were clearly not afraid to take risks often, but they might have gone over the top a few times. We’ve noticed many fans on messaging boards claiming that they’ve quit the show a long time ago, and are now just periodically checking for updates to see where the story is going.
