‘Once Upon a Time’ Season 5 Episode 20 to Focus on a New Period in Emma Swan’s Life!

The upcoming episode 20 of the American fairy tale drama TV series “Once Upon a Time” to be shown on ABC on May 1 entitled “Firebird” shall focus on a new period in Emma Swan’s life.

Co-showrunner Edward Kitsis made the disclosure during a recent interview by saying that the show is going to get a period in time in Emma’s life that has never been explored before, about the time before she became a bail bond person, reports iDigital Times.

Critics believe that it’s about time that focus is made on the backstory of Emma, played in the series by Jennifer Morrison, considering that she is one of the main protagonists of “Once Upon a Time.”

Based on latest information, the new episode will also feature Rya Kihlstedt of “Heroes Reborn” and she will be playing Cleo, a bail bond person whose tough exterior hides a strong nurturing side that is not often given a chance to come out.

The teaser trailer for the upcoming episode 20 of “Once Upon a Time” also showed Emma and Hook, played by Colin O’Donoghue, going to the Land of No Escape, the most dangerous place in hell.

The end for one couple

Meanwhile, the creative team of “Once Upon a Time” recently teased that one current couple in the TV series would not last Season 5.

So only a “Once Upon a Time” true love can really withstand whatever challenges it may come its way.

Critics have looked into the four couples in the show that shall contend with that ignominious title and it seems that the pair of Emma and Hook looks to be separated by the time Season 5 ends.

While the second half of Season 5 is built on the strength of their relationship, Emma and Hook have been somehow pushed aside in the show. They rarely share scenes together in the past couple of episodes. However, it would feel incredibly rushed and forced if the creators just broke them to create some level of extra drama.

Based on the preview of the upcoming 20th episode of the popular TV series, it seems that Hook and Emma’s days as lovebirds are already numbered. Some fans actually believe that the couple is in an annoying pattern of being self-sacrificing and noble. They have been breaking up countless times already, apparently for the other’s protection, and it is quite nauseating already, notes Buddy TV.

Other couples in contention for the break-up before the end of Season 5 include Regina and Robin, Zelena and Hades, and Rumple and Belle.

Plan to escape Underbrooke

Meanwhile, the 19th episode of “Once Upon a Time” focused on the sisterhood of Regina, played by Lana Parrilla, and Zelena, played by Rebecca Madder.

Hades tells Zelena his plan to restart his heart with True Love’s Kiss and escape Undrebrooke with Zelena, leaving the other heroes behind.

Without Hades to help them, the heroes turn to Cora, played by Barbara Hershey, the mayor of Underbrooke, and she suggested using water from the River of Lethe to make Zelena forget she ever met Hades.

Eventually, the heroes learned that Cora has used the same strategy before when a young Regina hurt herself with her mother’s wand and only Zelena could cure her.

Cora eventually saves Zelena from her father only to erase her memory and send her back as the sisters became close.

once upon a time

She ended up telling Regina and Zelena the truth and restoring their memories before going off into the light. Regina then encourages Zelena to help Hades become a better man.

But before Zelena can go on her date with Hades, Rumple, played by Robert Carlyle, gets his hands on her. He wanted revenge on Zelena for giving Belle, played by Emilie de Ravin, the idea to put a sleeping pill on herself.
