Reki Kawahara is involved in the making of the Sword Art Online movie and hence he is clearly not in a position to work on the script for the third season of the anime. Kawahara seems to be working on the Mother’s Rosario Arc for Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale.
FX News Call brought in some good news for the fans. They reported that the creators of Sword Art Online are planning on releasing the third season of the anime along with the first season of the live-action TV series.
The popularity enjoyed by the franchise forced the franchise creators to take this decision. The fans were clearly upset with the decision to cancel Sword Art Online Season 3 because of other projects related to it.
Even Yibada reported that 2018 would see the release of Sword Art Online Season 3. The season will deal with the Alicization Arc of the original manga.
While the viewers wait for some official news on the same, they can tune into Netflix to watch the episodes from Season 1 and 2 of Sword Art Online.
Exciting times are coming for the fans since they have the live action TV series and the film based on Sword Art Online anime releasing in 2017. The 2018 release of Season 3 will follow these two releases.
