‘No Man’s Sky’ Lore and Procedurally-Generated Universe Exist for a Reason, Says Game Developer!

Game developer Hello Games has recently stated that while its upcoming adventure exploration survival video game “No Man’s Sky” does not have a traditional linear story or huge cut scenes like most video games, it has nonetheless an infinite number of planets for gamers to explore their hearts out.

Most of all, “No Man’s Sky” also has a lore and a procedurally-generated universe where everything exists for a reason.

It was actually Sean Murray, founder of Hello Games, who explained how the development team approached the lore in “No Man’s Sky” in a way that is a bit different from what players might be used to in other games, notes VG 24/7.

Murray explained that when the development team was creating buildings in the game, they tried to think of who might have built it and why. This means that gamers would have a lot of exploring to do once they play the game.

Focusing on the nitty-gritty of the lore

In order to focus on the lore, Hello Games has actually taken in Dave Gibbons from “Watchmen,” “Kingsman,” and “2000 AD,” and James Swallow from “Deus Ex: Human Revolution” and “Star Trek” to create for “No Man’s Sky” lore in its universe.

The same stories and lore shall be included in the “Adventures in No Man’s Sky” which is meant to hype up gamer interest in the video game when it is finally released on the PlayStation 4 and the PC on June 21. It shall also be included in the game’s limited edition.

In other words, Gibbons and Swallow have focused on the development of the nitty-gritty of the lore by lending their knowledge to the team, notes the PC Gamer.

The two have apparently created an environment for things to happen in “No Man’s Sky.” Critics believe that the addition of the lore will make the game universe feel alive while giving gamers the idea about the magnitude of work that has been put into making the procedurally-generated universe of the game.

Absolutely mind-blowing

“No Man’s Sky” will absolutely be mind-blowing and visually breathtaking that when it comes out in the PlayStation 4 and the PC this coming June, it is expected to captivate millions of gamers and people when they lay their eyes on the game.

Developer Hello Games and publisher Sony Computer Entertainment have already confirmed the rollout of “No Man’s Sky” to the PlayStation 4 and PC on June 21.

In fact, the game has already been made available for pre-order through Amazon since the start of this year and comes with a retail price of $59.99.

Sean Murray states that “No Man’s Sky” is going to be the game of every video gamer’s dreams because almost anything is possible and all kinds of exploration negotiable in the game.

no man's sky

Contrary to rumors that the game shall also come to Xbox One, the chances of “No Man’s Sky” coming to the Microsoft gaming console are very slim because it is a Sony PlayStation 4 exclusive title. It would not have Sony for its publisher if the game will also come out on the Xbox One.

“No Man’s Sky” also features different worlds approximately numbering 18 quintillions. It’s actually a mind-boggling number of unique planets that players can explore in the game. This also means that one player can explore different planets every time he plays the game without making any repeat visit to any one of them and he would still not finish it all in his lifetime.
