Hopefully the game isn’t going to get delayed even more. There is currently a lot of hype about it, and according to some, that hype could increase even more if the game gets additional delays. This has already happened multiple times in the history of the industry, and yet some developers haven’t really learned to avoid building up their games too much. At least the folks behind “No Man’s Sky” have that concept down right, but they still have the issue with the game’s slow development pace.
On the other hand, it’s also important that they don’t rush the game’s development just for the sake of meeting a release deadline. This could be equally bad for the quality of the game as a whole, if not worse.
This title still has a lot of potential to become a big name in the industry, and it has every piece of the puzzle needed for that, except of course a rigid development schedule. But then again, some companies that are supposedly even more experienced have occasionally had trouble keeping up with that.
It’s at least good to see that the developers are so active in their communication with their fans, as that’s quite important in a time like this when everyone’s trust in the title is getting challenged.
With enough appropriate statements to keep their fans calm, the developers should be able to easily keep people interested in the game and prevent them from getting too annoyed over the delay, although of course that has its limits too and they can’t keep it up forever.
