Another critical factor that will determine the fate of the console to a large extent is the variety of games that will be available on launch day.
Gamers will definitely not want to buy a whole new console just to play “Pokemon” on it, so we hope that we’re going to see a good selection of titles in the platform’s store when it arrives. Even better, we should see some talks about those titles early on.
The responses to the announcement that “Pokemon” is coming to the platform made it quite clear that Nintendo’s fans are currently very interested in learning more about the actual titles that they will have access to.
This is also one of the main focus points in the marketing of other consoles when they are being released, so it makes full sense for Nintendo to focus on this aspect of the launch. Last but not least, some new titles as exclusive releases would be an absolute delight to the company’s fans who’re on the fence with regards to the NX, but we aren’t sure how much developer effort the platform can attract before it’s actually out.
That’s up to Nintendo to sort out anyway, as they are the ones that have to negotiate the deals with the corresponding developers, and the company should certainly still have the pull to make it happen.
