Nintendo NX Guaranteed to Have a Strong Lineup of Video Games as Japanese Gaming Company Learned from the Debacle of the Wii U!

Japanese gaming company Nintendo is once again the talk of the mainstream gaming world following the groundbreaking launch of the mobile augmented reality game “Pokemon Go” early this month, which is now the latest craze among mobile video gamers.

For its part, Nintendo shall reportedly build on the success of the “Pokemon Go” by launching in the next couple of months its latest gaming console, the NX.

Reports have it that the NX shall be officially launched by Nintendo later this year but it shall officially make it to the gaming market in March 2017.

In addition to the formal release date of the Nintendo NX, what is also confirmed is the flagship title of the gaming platform known as “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” But it would not be the only game that would be featured in the NX as there will also be major titles too.

Apparently, Nintendo has learned its lesson from the launch of the Wii U back in November 2012. It has eventually found out that one of biggest reasons why the Wii U failed to gain major traction then was its weak video game launch lineup, reports iDigital Times.

The system also did not have a killer app at launch and after the early pipeline dried up, a long drought ensued. Nintendo would no longer commit the same mistake when it launches the NX in March next year.

‘The Legend of Zelda’ is just the beginning

Nintendo has been developing games for the Nintendo NX for quite some time and it is now clear that “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is just the beginning.

The Japanese gaming company wants to ensure that the new console shall have a solid pipeline of video games and it has also been encouraging third-party developers to help them give the new gaming system a chance.

Reports also have it that the other top Nintendo Wii U games including “Splatoon,” “Mario Kart 8,” and “Super Smash Bros” shall also be available to the NX upon its launch next year.

There are also reports saying that Nintendo is working on at least two more flagship games including a new 3D Mario game from the “Super Mario Galaxy” and the “Super Mario 3D World” development team and a new game from Retro Studios, developers of “Donkey Kong Country Returns” and more significantly “Metroid Prime.”

Speculations are also rife that “Fire Emblem” is going to come to the Nintendo NX, which could really give the platform a real big boost.

Bringing back the NES

It could be a throwback strategy of the Japanese gaming company but Nintendo is reportedly planning to bring back its Nintendo Entertainment System or NES.

But it would not be exactly the same as the first gaming system that Nintendo launched during the 80s but a more powerful version. Nintendo is calling it as the NES Classic Edition, which would be a smaller version of its iconic 80s console that can be plugged into a TV via an HDMI cable.

The original NES used to be connected to TV via an RF cord or an audio-video cord.

The NES Classic Edition will be launched on November 11 and will come with a price of US$59.99. It shall come out with 30 built-in games and an NES Mini controller, details Tech Radar.

Gamers have the option to buy additional controller separately but Nintendo says that Wii’s Classic Controller Pro is also compatible with the NES Classic Edition.

The NES Mini controller can also be used to play Virtual Console NES games with the Wii or the Wii U by connecting it to the Wii Remote.
