Despite being seen and photographed cuddling together at a Philadelphia night club last January 9, 2015, “Super Bass” singer Nicky Minaj and rapper Robert Rameek Williams a.k.a. Meek Mill deny that they’re dating.
A snapshot of the two was posted on Instagram several days later featuring the couple along with other friends including Rick Ross, his girlfriend Ming Lee, Wale, and a member of the Maybach Music Group.
Meek Mill posted the night club group photo on his Instagram account a few days later to share it with friends and fans. Nicky Minaj subsequently posted the same image an hour later, hinting that there is more to the two than just being friends, details the Latin Post.
Mutual appreciation and respect
Nicky has been denying for the past couple of weeks that she and Meek Mill are seeing or dating each other.
While she admits that Meek Mill is a close friend and the rapper from Philadelphia is also featured on her album twice, Nicky says their relationship is more of on a friendly and business nature.
Nicky, during an interview with ‘The Rickey Smiley Morning Show’ in December, says that she has been a fan of Meek from way back and Mill was a fan of hers likewise so the feeling, she said, was based on mutual appreciation and respect.
“The Anaconda” singer was also surprised to learn of rumors that she and Mill were dating and was also wondering who started it.
She made the same denials when she was again interviewed on radio a couple of times by Ryan Seacrest of “American Idol” and Angie Martinez.
Nicky said that she believes that some people are just making up stories or assuming about her and Meek. She also made it clear that she and the Philadelphia-based emcee and rapper are just good friends. As friends, they are entitled to hang out occasionally. She also said that as friends who have mutual respect, they do not see each other on a romantic level contrary to what some people assume.
Speaking terms again
Rumors of Nicky Minaj and Meek Mill have been dating also came out in the midst of recent reports that the “Bang Bang” singer and her ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels are now on speaking terms again, after a rather painful split.
Despite being friends again, the reports are still not certain whether a reunion is in the works or not. One source said however that it is unlikely that the former couple will reconcile despite being friends again.
There have been no communications between the ex-couple for a long time so it is highly unlikely that something will develop just because they are on speaking terms once again, the source added.
Words also have it that Nicky just texted his ex-boyfriend Happy New Year on January 1, 2015 and got the same well-wishes from Safaree.
