It’s been nearly 19 months since rapper-singer Nicki Minaj has released her third studio album entitled “The Pinkprint.” While a lot of people have been asking her when is she going to release her fourth studio album, the “Super Bass” singer appears not in a hurry to do so.
Contrary to rumors that she will be releasing a new album this year, it seems unlikely at this point in time since she wants to take some time off to reflect on her successes and failures with regards to her last album.
“The Pinkprint” did not do well in the market when it came out early last year so it was below the expectations of Nicki Minaj. While the album did peak at the No. 2 in the US Billboard album chart, it remains her lowest-selling album thus far, notes the Digital Spy.
She has told fans earlier this year that she would not be rushing her next album. She explained that she needed time to hear herself again because she was left off with “The Pinkprint” where she personally came out as someone who is a little bit emotionally unstable.
Minaj also explained that she wanted to take a moment to just live her life, enjoy her life, have fun, and go out. She feels that those things are very important for her before she starts writing songs again for her new album.
While Nicki may not have given many details about her own new project, she treats her Barbz well with a load of feature verses on other artists’ tracks.
If she has been in the studio with DJ Mustard, that could be a sign of things to come for her own album. The two have yet to team up for a Minaj project, so maybe the time has finally come, some critics point out.
He has worked closely with Nicki’s boyfriend Meek Mill, who is reported to be heavily involved in the project, so it’s not out of the question.

Nicki says that she does not need to read a book about the business because she can look at someone’s career and just pinpoint the dos and the don’ts. She pointed out that the one person she has done that with for her entire career was Jay-Z.
The “Bang Bang” singer said that it was such a great job being an authentic street guy and a businessman, and she asked why are not there many women doing that, taking the success from rap and channeling it into an empire.
Marrying into the money
She said that she feels that young women today seem to marry into money. She thinks that it is a big thing these days.
Nicki said that she does not want that to be a woman’s goal in life. She wants to continue her goal in life to become an entrepreneur, a rich woman, or a career-driven woman.
She said that women should understand that they can live and survive even without a man on this planet. She thinks that men should feel that because when a man feels that you need him, he acts differently.
Meanwhile, Canadian rapper Drake threw a birthday bash for the ages when he turned 30 on October 30 but one A-list invitee did not show up and it is no other than Nicki Minaj.
Reports have it that Nicki would have wanted to come and join the epic birthday celebration of Drake at the Delilah in West Hollywood but she was worried about what her boyfriend Meek Mill would say.
In fact, the “Anaconda” singer thinks that her boyfriend Meek Mill would be furious if she attends Drake’s birthday party.
A source close to Nicki Minaj said that Meek gave an ultimatum to the “Super Bass” singer and even threatened to end the relationship if she goes. Nicki just does not want to deal with too much drama at home with Meek so she thought it best in foregoing her attendance to Drake’s birthday celebration.
