It’s also worth noting that Huawei will be responsible for the production of the new device, as revealed in an announcement by the company itself. There were some rumors that HTC could be behind that for 2016, but it looks like Google are sticking with Huawei for now.
We’ll have to wait and see how this partnership works out for the 2016 Nexus 7, but Huawei definitely have the capabilities to make this a solid release worth investing into.
They are also very well in touch with their community, so they should be able to bring a special angle of approach to the table, helping Google reach as many people as possible once they launch the new tablet. It’s not clear how things will work out with regards to software modifications, however.
Not that a giant like Google would have any trouble delivering a strong marketing campaign if they wished to do so, but they could of course always benefit from an extra touch in the whole situation, especially by someone with as much experience as Huawei. HTC are also not to be underestimated when it comes to this, but it will be interesting to see what Huawei can do when tasked with the release of the new tablet. 2016 has been an interesting year for the mobile market so far, and the landscape is very good for releasing a tablet with good specifications right now. All that’s needed is someone to actually pull it off.
