Nexus 7 2016 Edition Could Be Unveiled Next Month, Built by Huawei, Rumors Claim!

While Google’s fans expected to see news about the 2016 edition of the Nexus 7 tablet earlier this year during Google’s I/O keynote, the event went through without any such announcements. This obviously led to some disappointment, but it looks like Google are going to make up for that next month.

Rumors indicate that the company is getting ready to reveal the tablet in October, and they could even make it immediately available for purchase if some of the bolder predictions turn out to be true. It’s worth keeping in mind that there is no news from Google themselves, so this could all be false in the end.

But it would make sense for several reasons, the most notable one being that many experts seem to agree that Google should release a new tablet in their Nexus like during this year. The company has already missed some opportunities to solidify their presence on the tablet market, and now could be their best chance to compensate for that.

Of course, that would also require a solid release. The tablet market has changed quite a bit over the last few years, and even though the original Nexus 7 and its successor were great devices, Google will have to put more effort now if they want to make the same impression.

On that topic, we don’t really know what the company could be planning for the Nexus 7 2016, but we expect a top-of-the-line release with a large resolution screen, good connectivity options, and maybe even some extra innovation. VR technology has been getting more and more prominent lately, and its tie to mobile devices is interesting.

Google themselves seem to have some interest in this area of the market, so maybe the company could release their tablet with some additional features in this direction, but that’s more wishful thinking rather than any analysis of the market.

It seems like Asus won’t be responsible for the manufacturing of the new device this time, if some other rumors are to be believed. Rather, Google are now apparently working with Huawei, and this rumor is made even more plausible by the fact that the company reportedly has a trademark on the name “Huawei 7P”.

However, it could be related to something entirely different, but we doubt Google would allow something like this to go by unnoticed and not make any comments about it. Many signs seem to point in the direction of Huawei right now, and it looks like Google’s own fans won’t mind if that’s the company behind the production of the new device.

Huawei themselves seem to be hinting at a new Nexus device coming out by them this year, but it’s hard to decipher those claims more precisely right now. Plus, we would expect that Google have a tight grip on the release of information about this project, and they’re probably keeping things at a low profile if the device is real.

If it is, and if the recent rumors are true, we’ll find out in just under one month when Google are rumored to make the big announcement. October could be a very interesting month for tablet lovers who’ve been looking to invest in a new device lately, as we’ve also been hearing rumors about some other noteworthy releases coming up during that time. There are only a few weeks left until we find out in any case.
