Next ‘Call of Duty’ Video Game to be Revealed Worldwide on April 26

Publisher Activision will formally reveal the next “Call of Duty” video game on April 26. The plan was to have it introduced on May 4 but because the usual leak got the better of Activision, the game publisher had no choice but to move the scheduled reveal by a week early.

The scheduled world reveal was announced by Activision on April 9 through a one minute and seven seconds of video teaser, details Stuff.co.nz.

Officially called #backinblack, the cryptic video features a number of voices and references to Alex Mason from the “Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”

The teaser started off with lines of gibberish text filling the screen before forming 3D models similar to the characters from the box art of “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” around the middle, and “Call of Duty: Black Ops” around the end of the video clip.

The final couple of frames will show the Roman numeral III appearing on screen with a fiery outline. Then just below it, the words ‘world reveal 4.26.15’ is shown.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III

It would not take a genius to decipher that Activision is talking about “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” as its next upcoming game.

It is most likely that the official release date of the game on the next generation gaming console would be announced by the publisher on April 26. But basing on the history of Activision’s yearly release of its video games, it is most likely that it would happen in November this year.

The last Call of Duty game titled “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare” featuring the face and voice of award-winning actor Kevin Spacey, was released in November 4 last year.

Just like the previous Black Ops entries for the “Call of Duty” game, the third installment to the particular series is being developed by Treyarch studio.

Treyarch was responsible for the development of the World War II – themed “Call of Duty: World at War” back in 2008. There have already been rumors that the upcoming “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” will be a sequel to the game launched in 2008.

Confirmation

Following the release of the teaser video, Activision already confirmed that the new game is indeed “Call of Duty: Black Ops III.”

Scott Lowe of Activision revealed in a blog that after working behind the scenes for the past couple of years, the team at Treyarch will return this year with “Call of Duty: Black Ops III.”
