The release date for the new “Batman” game is coming closer and closer, and Rocksteady have been releasing information about the game on a regular basis, both in the form of videos as well as various statements made by members of the development team. Recently, a brand new trailer for the game was released, showing several exciting new features. Among them, fans got to see a new takedown gameplay mechanic, as well as a revised version of the Batmobile.
The trailer is reportedly done in the game engine itself, which means that the game’s visual quality would surpass all expectations fans and critics have been having. While it was known that a lot of focus is being put on the graphics in the development of this installment, what was shown in the trailer was the subject of heated discussions among fans of the game. It appears that gamers would need quite the powerful machines to run this title properly, at least on the highest quality settings.
According to Rocksteady, they’re far from finished with the promotional materials – the company has two additional trailers scheduled for a release soon, with the next one coming on December 1. The second trailer will be shown on December 6, when the company delivers their keynote at the PlayStation Experience – and Rocksteady have stated that this will be the final promotional video for the game.
However, this does not mean the end of teasers with new information – the developers have said that they plan on updating fans regularly throughout the final phase of the game’s development, so it’s expected that more information will be released at some point after the second trailer is shown. In addition, the game has not been short on rumors all throughout its development period so far, so even if Rocksteady decide to not say much, some information should still make its way to the public before the release date.
It’s obvious that Rocksteady are putting a lot of effort into the promotion of this title, and considering the popularity of the previous games in the “Batman” series and the overall brand value of the franchise, this could easily become one of the most memorable releases of 2015 if executed well. Its development has already been delayed once, in order to add extra polish and fix various issues, so it’s expected that it will be a smooth release. It’s always a good sign for the quality of a game when the developer is willing to delay it, instead of rushing to meet a hard deadline – which, as history has shown, often results in poor products that require a series of critical updates before they reach a playable state.
