Bethesda Softworks still remains mum on the official release date of the most anticipated post-apocalyptic role playing video game “Fallout 4” on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC.
Although it is already clear that “Fallout 4” will be released this year, the only question remaining especially among gamers is when will be its official release date.
Because game developer Bethesda has chose to be silent on the details including the release date of the game, speculations have began to set off rumor mills in motion.
New game engine
Contrary to earlier speculations that Bethesda will be using a new game engine for “Fallout 4,” latest round of rumors indicate that the developer may use an updated Skyrim’s game engine, called the Creation Engine, instead.
The International Business Times notes that “Fallout 4” has been in production since 2011 and one of the reasons that its development took a long time compared to Bethesda’s previous games is the fact that it was using Skyrim.
Previous Bethesda games like “The Elder Scrolls 3” and “The Elder Scrolls 4” were rolled out faster by the developer because it used familiar game engines called Morrowind and Oblivion. “Fallout 3” also used the same game engine which also allowed it a quick rollout.
As early as 2011, Bethesda has already hinted that it will be using an updated version of the Creation Engine through an interview made on Pete Hines, the company vice president for PR.
Hines said then that Bethesda will be taking advantage of whatever new developments or technology that Creation Engine will have for Skyrim.
The Fuse Joplin believes that Creation Engine provided an expansive and vast world for “Fallout 4” alright, but the game engine’s graphics for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 may fall below gamers’ expectations.
New location
There have been a lot of rumors last year that Boston would be the next setting for “Fallout 4.” The rumors even came with some leaked documents about the game citing that the gameplay will have a setting in MIT laboratories where Android robots will be built.
Bethesda has not issued any statement or official announcement to confirm or deny those rumors related to the location of “Fallout 4.”
Now, the latest rumors on the possible location of the game is said to be China. The issue has been a hot topic on Reddit blog where most of the fans were practically up in arms on the planned new location of “Fallout 4,” saying that China is the most unfavourable and least expected setting for the game.
“Fallout 4” is an American video game and given its style, design, and music, having China for a location or any country in the Far East for that matter will not only sound but look absurd as well.
