Toyota have been pushing the market very aggressively, as they’re now gearing up for the release of the 2016 Hilux, the successor to the already hugely popular 2015 model. Hilux is already one of the biggest names on the truck market, and the company hasn’t just been relying on their past success, but rather expanding the brand name and exploring all sorts of different new directions for it.
The 2016 Hilux is supposed to be released in certain markets on May 21, but the company has been facing some issues with their supply channels, more specifically the production in Thailand. This has led to problems on the Australian market, which might be left undersupplied if things continue as they’re currently going, much to the dismay of truck fans on that side of the world.
The issue was admitted by the executive director of sales and marketing for Toyota Australia, Tony Cramb, who stated that the company will likely going to face a big issue with their supply, but they’re apparently already ahead of that problem and are coming up with ways to go around it. We don’t know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes, but we can only assume that the company is in some serious talks on all sides of their supply channels in order to ensure a smooth and trouble-free launch.
At the same time, they’ve been ramping up the marketing for the new Hilux, and just recently they’ve released a new video showcasing the truck and teasing interested buyers with its various features and overall quality. The video doesn’t actually go in detail about any of the more interesting aspects of the truck, but it does show a close-up of the headlights and foglights, as well as an overall outline of the truck’s front end.
And for many of the die-hard fans of the brand name, this was more than enough. They immediately took to the Internet to discuss what they had just seen, and it looks like a lot of people out there are very hungry for any kind of information on the new Hilux. Toyota have a clear winner on their hands with this release, all they have to do is play their cards right and ensure that the car actually meets expectations when it launches.
We’ve already seen a few spy shots of it which seem to confirm that, but we can’t say for sure if the final release of the Hilux will actually be worth its asking price until we’ve seen the truck in action.
