You might remember Neil Patrick Harris as the funny guy from How I Met Your Mother, but he has a role that is going to turn what you thought about him upside down for sure. American Horror Story Season 4 just finished filming and it looks like fans are going to get a little Neil Patrick Harris no their favorite show. Harris took to Twitter this week to announce that he just finished filming his final scene and that he needed to shower “off all this horror”.
Harris is expected to make his American Horror Story debut in the fourth season in episodes 11 and 12, so you will have to wait a little while after the season starts to see him in action. The director revealed a couple of months ago that Harris was not the only guest star coming to season 4, in fact the other one is Harris’s husband, David Burtka. He will be playing a role in the story line with Jessica Lange’s character, Elsa Mars.
The creator of the show could not keep it a secret that Harris was going to be included in the show and Harris was already talking about it back in October during interviews. Harris was actually expected to be in the show back in 2011, but turned the role down because he did not want him and his husband to be “known as a couple that don’t like each other”. Harris said that he regrets turning that role down as he looks back now.
In American Horror Story Season 4, Neil Patrick Harris will be playing “Chester”, a salesman that seems all sweet and nice, but that changes rather quickly. There are short clips posted online already for fans to enjoy if they want to get a sneak peek at his character. Chester is seen doing a magic trick on stage that involves cutting his subject in half, as you can imagine it will end a little differently than you liked it to. It is also revealed that he has an obsession with Dot and Bette (Sarah Paulson).
According to one online source, Chester becomes the owner of Elsa’s show, which will come to light around episode 11 and 12. Elsa is preparing to move to Hollywood and the Twins are starting to like the traveling salesman. In episode 12, the Twins get more information about Chester, Maggie talks about her loyalty to Jimmy and The Freaks enforce their harsh code of justice. The episode that Neil Patrick Harris’s husband, David Burtka, is expected to act in is the season 4 finale, according to one source.
