But many fans seem to believe that completely removing Gibbs would be a major mistake for the producers of “NCIS” and that the show hinges on his personality to a large extent. But then, if that personality is changed so significantly, does it really matter in the end?
We’ll find out soon enough, but in any case, there is definitely going to be a major restructuring in the way “NCIS” works, and while this could be good for the show’s future, it might also have some negative effects on its present.
If fans get too annoyed by the interactions between the characters – particularly related to Gibbs – that might turn some people away from the production and cause its ratings to suffer. And if the entire point of this move is to freshen up the show and add some new excitement to its plot, that could severely backfire.
Hopefully the producers know what they’re doing and they aren’t going to just let the show fall down into a pit of negativity, because it definitely still has a lot of potential for more episodes if everything is handled correctly. But until then, we’ll need to see how Gibbs and the rest of the team are going to handle the events from season 12 and what kinds of changes we can expect in the team as the season progresses.
