The 2016-17 NBA season has just begun on October 26 and every basketball fan loves it including the avid gamers of the basketball simulation game “NBA 2K17.”
Game developer 2K Sports has used the “NBA 2K17” to simulate the results of the current NBA season all the way to the end and it predicts that the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers will have a rematch in the NBA Finals.
Just like during the most recent NBA Finals, the “NBA 2K17” prediction has put the Cavaliers winning it again over the Warriors in seven games, reports Gamespot.
The prediction also went on to say that LeBron James shall earn another MVP award during the regular season.
The other interesting notes from the prediction are the strong seasons for the young Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers teams. The Lakers would still not make the playoffs though but its rookie Brandon Ingram will win the Rookie of the Year honors.
Surprisingly, despite its off-season moves that bolstered its squad big time, the Utah Jazz is predicted to miss the playoffs. The simulation also sees the Oklahoma City Thunder making it again to the playoffs as the eighth seed and will have the highly-anticipated Russell Westbrook versus Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors matchup.
Another surprise from the “NBA 2K17” prediction is that the New York Knicks would make it all the way to the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs but it would be swept in the first round by the Chicago Bulls.
Moments Cards for MyTeam
The MyTeam mode of the “NBA 2K17” shall be getting its first set of Moments Cards and it was revealed by the MyTeam Twitter account on October 26.
The tweet said that the NBA season’s first batch of Moments Cards will be coming soon to MyTeam. However, no date, list of players, or pricing details were provided, reports iDigital Times.
MyTeam is a fantasy team mode in “NBA 2K17” where players can purchase athlete decks using MyTeam points or virtual currency or VC.
On the other hand, Moments Cards are buffed versions of star players tied to a specific event that happens during the real-world NBA season or in basketball history. Those who pre-ordered NBA 2K16, for example, got a high-value Michael Jordan card featuring a picture from his debut matchup.
In its predecessor, Moments Cards were typically sold in designated Moments Packs that cost about 6,000 VC. For comparison’s sake, 75,000 VC can be purchased digitally from retailers for $19.99.
The return of the Moments Cards takes the focus off various glitches and bugs that have been bothering “NBA 2K17” fans for the past few weeks.
Recently, the title’s gameplay designer has been having difficulty with balancing the shot mechanics and fixing issues with specific badges such as the Relentless Finisher.
Maintaining the franchise’s gold standard
“NBA 2K17,” released last month on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the PC, has conveniently maintained the franchise’s gold standard for sports games. The game has certainly upped the ante yet again from its predecessor, “NBA 2K16.”
It was clear that game developer 2K Games has done a lot of fine tuning on the game from its previous iterations and that is why “NBA 2K17” truly shines.
Most of the critics are actually one in saying that “NBA 2K17” is packed with so many great features that gamers would find it difficult to settle on just one.
One of the fascinating things that “NBA 2K17” is the addition of expansion teams where gamers can bring the Supersonics back to Seattle.
