‘NBA 2K17’ Patch 1.06 Fixes Minor and Major Issues Including the Popping Up of Pass-Icons in the PS4 Pro

Game publisher 2K Sports has officially released the latest patch for the basketball simulation video game “NBA 2K17” on November 23.

It is officially called as Patch 1.06 and it basically fixes all minor and major issues encountered in the game by players including the popping up of pass-icons in the PlayStation 4 Pro, details the iTech Post.

In addition to the sudden turning up of the pass-icons, PS4 Pro players are also witnessing problems in the dribbling animation on “NBA 2K17,’ which involves a wrong dribble move that happens when the player is trying to do a double crossover. Patch 1.06 has also fixed such issue.

Patch 1.06 also includes improvements on CPU intelligence which mean that offense and fastbreaks are faster than before.

The update also corrected the problems on MyGM, MyLeague, and MyPark modes and also made some minor adjustments and bug fixes too.

Patch 1.06 in other platforms

Incidentally, Patch 1.06 shall consume 7.4GB of memory space on the PS4 and only 2.6GB on the Xbox One. It will be a minuscule 139.5MB on the PC, reports iDigital Times.

The update shall consist of changes and improvements in general, gameplay, and other aspects.

Patch 1.06 also includes a corrected Hornets homecourt. The fix on indefinite simulating screen during the MyPlayer mode is added. When a MyTeam Card was up for auction, the player will not see it on his list anymore.

Several other gameplay issues in “NBA 2K17” have been fixed by Patch 1.06 such as aggressive bump pack dribble collisions. The issue regarding unrealistic speed is also fixed. The broadcasts on the Mavericks, Bucks, Kings, and Clippers have likewise been updated.

Improvements on performance to strengthen the Pro-AM experience were also added. The players will not experience any hang-ups when they are attempting to jump from one park to another.

And finally, players can choose to remove the skateboard and mascot outfits from their MyPlayer mode.

Tweaks more than overhauls

It should be noted by gamers that many of the issues addressed by Patch 1.06 are tweaks as opposed to full-on overhauls, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t appreciated by the “NBA 2K17” community.

The reaction to the updates has been mostly positive. As for the remaining issues that were not fixed, a popular animation glitch called ‘speed boosting’ remains intact. Similar cheese methods for easy steals in MyPark are also unresolved. At the very least, MyPark is far less exploitable than before. Now that Patch 1.06 update is live, the next step is for 2K Sports to patch the remainder through server-side adjustments.

Early this month, 2K Sports also released Patch 1.05. While the update was meant for all platforms including the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4, Patch 1.05 specifically enabled the game for HDR support on the PlayStation 4 and 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 4 Pro.

It has also made a significant impact on the various modes of play of “NBA 2K17” as well as a lot of physical changes too.

Some of those changes brought about by the Patch 1.05 includes the new Cleveland Cavaliers court floor to match their new 2016-17 design, the Golden State Warriors uniforms now have the #42 in honor of the late Nate Thurmond, and plenty of authenticity improvements on a large number of uniforms.

With the release of Patch 1.05, “NBA 2K17” gamers got the ability to toggle off the “Zoom in Paint” camera option when using the default broadcast camera.

The update also fixed an issue where the user was unable to unequip certain animation types from their MyPlayer mode. They can likewise unequip socks in the mode.

It also addressed an issue where controller settings would reset after playing games online.
