There are some issues with the game, of course. Some players have been complaining about the added complexity of some menu systems, and it does seem like the game can be simplified and streamlined a little more in this regard.
On the other hand, some have also reportedly seen minor issues with the physics engine behaving strangely, but these reports seem quite uncommon. If it is true, it’s probably a minor occurrence related to a specific edge case, not a general fault of the physics simulation.
All things considered, the people behind “NBA 2K17” have not only successfully made a modern, proper basketball game, but they’ve also extended the franchise in a spectacular way. Some were skeptical about how much can be changed in a basketball game from one installment to the next, but it’s clear that there is a lot of room for improvement.
With that in mind, we’re also interested to see how much more the franchise can evolve in the future, and what other additions the developers are going to introduce to it.
As tech keeps getting better and better, we’ll also see more opportunities for the realization of systems that were not possible before. It’s entirely plausible that this genre could look completely different four or five years from now just from the improvements in technology alone, and it’s actually already moving in that direction quite fast.
