Regardless of the results of the Game 7 between the defending NBA champion, the Golden Star Warriors, and the surprising Oklahoma City Thunder at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, the basketball simulation game “NBA 2K16” is obviously getting intense promotion from game publisher 2K Games.
The Eastern Conference already has a familiar NBA Finals contender in LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and they are just waiting on who between the Warriors and the Thunder from the Western Conference they will face for the 2015-16 NBA title.
What is certain at this point is that the NBA Finals will begin on June 2, regardless of the outcome in the toss-up in the Western Conference.
In preparation for the penultimate phase of the current season of the NBA, Microsoft has actually offered Xbox Live Gold members on its gaming console, the Xbox One, to try out “NBA 2K16” for free over the last five days beginning on May 26 to May 30.
Those who availed of the promo offer from Microsoft were also able to play the new 2K Pro-Am game mode that features fully customizable tournaments, reports the International Business Times of India.
Discounted price for the game
As part of the Microsoft promotions for “NBA 2K16,” 2K Games shall reportedly be offering the video game at a discounted price if the players are to buy the game digitally via the Xbox Live Marketplace.
2K Games has been seriously promoting the game since the NBA Playoffs began last month. It also promised that the game will be inclusive of the 12 new legendary NBA teams including the 2000-2001 Los Angeles Lakers and the 2007-08 Boston Celtics.
Incidentally, Sony is also making promo offers on the “NBA 2K16” on the PlayStation Plus but it will start in June yet.
PlayStation Plus subscribers are now getting excited over reports that “NBA 2K16” and “Gone Home” might well be on the roster of their free games next month.
Accordingly, the leak came from a newsletter of PlayStation which Sony send-blasts to its users. Many believe that there could have been some glitch in the source code that allowed for the list of next month’s free games to be released, details the Christian Times.
Both “NBA 2K16” and “Gone Home” have never been offered in the PlayStation Plus in the past so it would really be a treat to fans and gamers if they come out next month.
Honoring the league’s back-to-back MVP
Except perhaps for LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, nobody was complaining that Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry was awarded early this month by the NBA as the league’s Most Valuable Player for the 2015-16 season.
It came out as back-to-back MVP title for Curry and became only the third active NBA player to score consecutive regular season MVP plums next only to Tim Duncan and LeBron James, who already did it twice.
In order to toast the honor that was given to one of its cover players, the developers of the basketball simulation video game “NBA 2K16” have decided to pay tribute to the digital version of Stephen Curry.
On May 12, 2K Sports, in cooperation with Under Armour, announced that they have maxed out Stephen Curry’s rating on “NBA 2K16” for 30 hours, which meant that any player who uses the NBA repeat MVP would make his shot regardless of distance.
Some “NBA 2K16” gamers just love the bonus that the developers had given them that one player even had his Stephen Curry playable character scoring 200 points in one game.
The decision of 2K Sports and Under Armour to give a 99 overall rating was meant to break the game in honor of Curry’s second straight MVP season.
