‘Nashville’ Season 4 Returns on March 16; Newest Promo Teases Rayna and Deacon’s Big Day

“Nashville” Season 4 will be returning to the small screen in less than a month. The ABC drama will be airing the 11th episode of the season on March 16, Wednesday, the network confirms.

The midseason finale titled “We’ve Got Nothing but Love to Prove” aired on December 9 last year and the final moments of the episode saw the country singer and the songwriter finally engaged.

In episode 9, after The Beverly’s successful opening, Deacon proposed to Rayna despite being jealous of Riley Smith’s Markus. It was a great moment when Mr. Claybourne finally took the step and brought his relationship with Rayna to the next level.

Along with this, ABC has also released a brand new extended promo of the upcoming episode giving fans a taste of romance and so much more.

The midseason premiere, titled “Forever and For Always” will finally see Connie Britton’s Rayna and Charles Esten’s Deacon finally tying the knot.

Guest stars slated to appear in the midseason premiere include Steve Kazee, who will play Luke Wheeler’s musician friend, and Justified’s Alicia Witt who is set to play as a pop country singer named Autumn.

Showrunner Dee Johnson said that the writers have created an exciting storyline for the couple that fans will surely enjoy watching.

Johnson also confirmed that when “Nashville” returns, it will open with the couple’s big day with Rayna walking down the aisle.

The extended promo is featured in a form of a music video and previews the chronology, the ups and downs, the laughter, the tears, the proposal, and how the couple’s relationship progressed over the years before they finally say ‘I do.’

According to E! News, the two-minute video allowed fans to witness the power couple’s journey of love. Deacon wore his suit and mentioned touching lines believed to be part of his wedding vows.

The short clip also showed the pair seemingly rehearsing their first kiss as a married couple. Fans would remember that Rayna almost got married to Will Chase’s Luke, but ended up running away as she did not really love him.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reported, Johnson assured fans that Rayna won’t be another runaway bride on this wedding. The executive producer adds that the season will focus on Deacon and Rayna’s relationship after their wedding vows.

He explains that now, the two are really working on being a formally drawn family and that won’t come easy.

Aside from Deacon and Rayna’s wedding, fans also anticipate the sad fate of Luke after his manager mercilessly emptied his bank account worth millions of dollars.

What’s worse is that he is also suffering from heartbreak as Cynthia McWilliams’ Gabriella Manning deserted him due to false allegations.

The midseason finale was devastating for Luke as the IRS informed him that his manager has embezzled all his money and that he owes $40 million in back taxes.

According to International Business Times, the rest of the season will see Luke finding ways to re-establish himself and rebuild his image although it is likely that his relationship with Gabriella might be irreparable.

Fans also wait how the relation of Caleb and Scarlett, played by Nick Jandl and Clare Bowen, respectively, will progress during the rest of the season.
