Narcos Season 3 Gets Nicholas Gonzalez and Andrea Londo to Join Cast of Characters as Filming Goes Underway!

Barely two months after Season 2 of the American crime drama TV series “Narcos” was streamed on Netflix, filming for Season 3 is now underway based on the behind-the-set photos uploaded on the show’s official Facebook page recently.

Executive producer Eric Newman assured fans that there is going to be life in “Narcos” even after the death of Pablo Escobar, played by Brazilian actor Wagner Moura during the first two seasons.

The TV series has already been renewed by Netflix for two more seasons, officially debunking cancellation rumors for the TV series as a result of the supposed fan backlash for the death of Escobar.

Over the last few weeks before the start of production for Season 3, the production team has been announcing the cast of characters for “Narcos” and the latest actors to have joined the series for its third season are Nicholas Gonzalez and Andrea Londo, reports Game & Guide.

Nicholas Gonzales is best known for his portrayal of Rosewood Detective Marco Furey in “Pretty Little Liars” and also took on the role of the brother of Cisco Ramon in “The Flash.”

He will reportedly be joining “Narcos” Season 3 as an experienced American DEA agent named Lopez.

Meanwhile, Andrea Londo shall be taking on the role of Maria, a former Colombian beauty queen who is smart and knows how to survive.

Four Cali godfathers

Incidentally, in order to quench the fan anticipation and enthusiasm for “Narcos” Season 3 even without Pablo Escobar, Eric Newman said that the upcoming season shall feature the Cali Cartel who shall be highlighted by its four godfathers.

They include brothers Gilberto, played by Damian Alcazar, and Miguel, played by Francisco Denis, Pacho Herrera, played by Alberto Amman, and the fourth is named ‘Chepe,’ who is a colorful character to add in the series.

It is also expected that Gilberto will play a huge role in the upcoming third season and might be the new villain due to the death of Escobar.

Newman also said that Season 3 will focus on the Cali Cartel and the combined efforts of the American and Colombian governments to take it down, reports the Times of India.

More casting inclusions

Other recent casting inclusion for “Narcos” Season 3 is actress Kerry Bishe who will take on the role of Christina. She is an American woman whose Colombian husband is actually involved in the cartel.

She will turn to the US embassy in Colombia to help her get away from her husband because, with the things she knows about him and the cartel, the only way she can escape from it all is if she is already dead.

Bishe is coming off fresh from her stint in the fourth and final season of “Halt and Catch Fire” on AMC. She also appeared in the movie “Argo” that starred Ben Affleck.

In addition to Bishe, other actors who have been already confirmed for “Narcos” Season 3 are Michael Stahl-David of “Show Me a Hero,” and Matt Whelan from New Zealand.

Stahl-David shall be portraying the role of Chris Feistl, a young American DEA agent who sought out an assignment to Colombia as the drug trade shifts to the takeover of the Cali Cartel in light of the death of Pablo Escobar. Whelan, on the other hand, shall be taking on the role of Feistl’s partner, Daniel Van Ness.

narcos

The second season of “Narcos” on Netflix showed how the Cali Cartel took the rag out of the foot of Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel to become Colombia’s new drug kingpins.

The good strategy on the part of the Cali cartel is that unlike Escobar and his Medellin cartel, the former worked with the Colombian government among other groups to make it look like it was concern.

Among the groups utilized by the Cali Cartel as shown in Season 2 of “Narcos” was the Los Pepes, which disbanded shortly after the death of Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel.
