It has already been confirmed that the upcoming second season of the American crime drama TV series “Narcos” on Netflix shall see the death of Columbian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, played by Brazilian actor Wagner Moura.
It has also been previously reported that the death of Escobar will be at the hands of the Columbian National Police over at Medellin, where he went into hiding after his escape from La Catedral prison some 18 months earlier.
However, there are reports going around that “Narcos” Season 2 shall look closely into the killing of Pablo Escobar and who are actually involved in his death, reports the Ecumenical News.
If it would be based on history, Escobar was shot dead by elements of the Columbian National Police. However, there have been soundings from those who have personally witnessed the killing of the drug kingpin as of late saying that a vigilante group known as the Los Pepes was actually responsible for the slaying of Escobar.
Los Pepes is actually short for Los Perseguidos por Pablo Escobar, which means People Persecuted by Pablo Escobar in English. According to the stories of some Columbian nationals, the group is actually the one who killed the famous drug kingpin.
Avenging the blood of his people
Reports have it that Season 2 of “Narcos” shall not only recount the horrid details of Escobar’s killing, it will also elaborate on his attempts to avenge the blood of his people.
According to past stories, the Los Pepes are composed of people who want to execute vengeance on Escobar for his wicked ways.
The group reportedly killed over 300 people who are related by blood, work, or acquaintance with the Columbian drug kingpin.
Thus, Escobar has become emotional about it and promised to get his revenge on the Los Pepes too. Accordingly, the second season of “Narcos” shall look into the details of such plotline in the life of Escobar.
If the Los Pepes are indeed responsible for the killing of Pablo Escobar, fans should expect the Netflix hit series to come up with a historical and groundbreaking storyline for Season 2 and end the life of Escobar on a high note for “Narcos.”
“Narcos” Season 2 is expected to air in August and fans are already getting more and more excited for its premiere on the streaming service.
Out to kill him
Pablo Escobar has been a target of numerous assassination attempts because of his stature in the Columbian drug trade.
Back in Season 1 of “Narcos,” Escobar barely escaped death when a bomb detonated in his building that nearly killed him, his wife, and their child. Apparently, it was the work of another drug group known as the Cali cartel who wants to overthrow him and take hold of the country’s illegal drug syndicate.
But in the upcoming Season 2, Escobar shall reportedly be dealing with a more serious threat from another enemy group known as the Los Pepes. That’s in addition to the Cali cartel and the Columbian Special Operations agents of the Search Bloc, a special unit of the Columbian National Police, details The Bitbag.
Escobar shall be dealing with violence from the Los Pepes as he is no longer in the safe custody of his prison over in La Catedral.
As to how we will retaliate against the vigilante group in the second season of “Narcos,” that remains to be seen.
There are reports going around that the reason why the Columbian National Police was claiming responsibility for the death of Escobar even though it was the Los Pepes who actually did the killing is because the vigilante group has colluded with the Search Bloc agents of the Columbian Special Operations.
The big question among fans is whether “Narcos” will remain true to what happened in official history or factor in the rumors of the involvement of the Cali cartel and others in the death of the Columbian smuggler.
