According to some, the best way to continue this show would be to focus on other prominent drug lords that came to power after Escobar, and there is definitely plenty of material in history to make that possible.
Some even claim that they have seen hints for that in the episodes that have aired so far, but of course these are probably statements that should be taken with a grain of salt. While we wouldn’t be surprised if the producers of “Narcos” have intentionally given us such hints, it’s also not something worth occupying one’s mind with right now.
The most important question at the moment is when exactly season 2 is coming, and whether there will be any creative changes in the production with it. So far, this definitely seems like a possibility.
We expect that we will hear more once the dust behind the scenes settles, and by that time there could already be talks about a new showrunner. Who might that be? There are quite a lot of possibilities, and with them, there are also lots of ways for the show to continue. Who knows, it might even end up being more successful in its second season than in its first, especially with a fresh look on things.
