Rumors claim that Tesla Model 3 will be equipped with 12 sensors, which will come with eight cameras. The sensors are necessary for self-driving capacity. The new hardware improves the already existing Autopilot mode and allows complete self-driving.
The hardware is still under testing and awaiting approval after further validation and approval by regulatory bodies.
However, not all mass-produced Tesla Model 3 will have the sensors. The owners need to specify their need for the sensors to get the hardware installed in their Tesla Model 3.
Business Insider reported that during the SolarCity acquisition, Elon Musk revealed that Model 3 would also incorporate the latest glass technology. Tesla is still working on the technology and developing it.
The latest glass technology will include heating elements that will help remove accumulated snow and also help generate energy. Rumors suggest that Tesla is also planning on offering a solar roof panel option for the users.
Since a majority of the specs are still under development, users can find more about Tesla Model 3 during Part 3 unveiling, which will happen after three-four months, depending on the progress made by the company.
While Tesla is still working on Model 3, they have made prototypes available for those who want to have a look at their latest offerings. The prototype is silver in color.
