Actress Stephanie Corneliussen revealed in a recent interview that Season 3 of the critically-acclaimed American psychological thriller drama TV series “Mr. Robot” on the USA Network would see more of her character’s deceitfulness.
The actress plays the role of Joanne Wellick and it was revealed in Season 2 that she used series main protagonist Elliot Anderson, played by Rami Malek, to her advantage in order to find and get back to her husband, Will Tyrell, played by Martin Wallstrom.
It has been speculated that Joanna will work on clearing her husband’s name of all the criminal charges that he is facing.
Apparently, Joanna will not take everything going around her sitting down as her husband is being chased by the police.
During Season 2 of “Mr. Robot,” Tyrell was included in the list of suspects in the 5/9 attack. Tyrell has yet to come out in public, disregarding his encounter with Elliot in the Season 2 finale, details Breathecast.
Not a figment of Elliot’s imagination
Just like Mr. Robot, played by Christian Slater, most viewers of the hit series thought at first that Will Tyrell is another figment of Elliott’s imagination.
However, it was revealed that Tyrell was actually alive. He brought Elliot to the headquarters of the Dark Army to let him know that the second phase of their scheme against E-Corp was making progress.
Elliot told Tyrell that he did not want to be involved in the plan, but Tyrell got a gun and shot him in the chest. It was clear that Tyrell has not yet forgiven his old employer for not giving him the promotion.
Joanna never told Elliot about her husband Will Tyrell back when they were still together. Apparently, she wants to be reunited with her ex-husband because she has remained loyal to him despite the fact that he left her without a word.
An incredible manipulator
Stephanie Corneliussen revealed that Joanna has a master plan going back to what viewers saw in Season 1. She is a master and an incredible manipulator and there is a lot to her story involving her new bartender-boyfriend,
The actress said that she was physically upset, with tears in her eyes, about that particular subplot to her character and asked Sam to explain to her that the character there is certainly not Joanna.
Sam assured her that she need not worry because there is a plant for her character. The actress said that she was happy that everyone eventually knew that her boyfriend was just a pawn in her game.
While Season 2 of the hacker drama series gained some headway into the head of Elliot Anderson with a riveting plotline, the creator of Mr. Robot is just about getting into the thick of things, reports Fab Newz.
The showrunner has already promised an explosive upcoming season all around, with Elliot once again resuming as the show’s central focus. He also told fans to keep an eye out for Joanna and Leon as well as they will be part of the front and center of “Mr. Robot” Season 3.
Show creator Sam Esmail disclosed in a recent interview that Elliot’s actions in the upcoming season will redefine his character in many ways.
He explained that Season 3 is sort of the return to Elliot, but not the naïve Elliot that fans saw at the beginning of the series. It would be the Elliot that viewers have seen go through the horrific experience from the first and second seasons.
With all that in mind, Esmail said that it is going to make the new Elliot come to fruition in the next season of “Mr. Robot.”
Based on the previous hints, it appears that Elliot will finally be seen taking a stand against the Dark Army in “Mr. Robot” Season 3
In addition to Elliot and Joanna, another character to watch out for in the third season of “Mr. Robot” is Leon, played by Joey Bada$$.
