Moto X was the flagship device for Motorola even a few months back but is now succeeded by the newer and faster Moto X (2nd Generation), which launched earlier in 2014. On the other hand, LG Google Nexus 5 still continues to be the flagship smartphone from Google.
Both of these devices, which launched last year, will be compared here with the upcoming OnePlus One. Many critics describe the latter to be the perfect phone for android geeks or the ‘Phone of Dreams’. It is worthy of being tagged as the flagship-killer.
While the Nexus 5 and Moto X weigh 130 grams, the OnePlus One is slightly heavier at 162 grams, owing to its bigger size of the display.
Display:
The Moto X comes with a vibrant AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a display resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 312 pixels per inch. It comes at a size of 4.7 inches, supports 16M colors and features a proximity sensor along with multi-touch and accelerometer functions.
Compared to this, the LG Google Nexus 5 features a slightly bigger display at 4.95 inches. Furthermore, its display resolution of 1080p and 445 ppi is far superior compared to that of the Moto X. While the OnePlus One has the biggest screen of the lot at 5.5 inches, it has a lower 401 ppi display.
Performance:
Once you look ‘under the hood’, you are bound to notice the superiority of the OnePlus One compared to the other two phones. It comes with the behemoth 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. This is followed with a massive 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU.
The Nexus 5 is weaker in all the aforementioned aspects except the GPU. While it has the same Adreno 330 GPU, it comes with a weaker 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The Moto X is certainly far behind with its dual-core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon Pro processor followed by an Adreno 320 GPU and the same 2GB RAM as in the Nexus.
Storage:
None of the devices have any option for an expandable memory slot. The Moto X and the Nexus 5 come in 16GB and 32GB variants while the OnePlus One has a larger 64GB variant besides the 16GB.
Camera:
When it comes to the camera, the OnePlus One certainly beats the Moto X and the Nexus 5 hands-down. It has a 13MP primary shooter followed by a 5MP secondary camera capable of recording at 1080p. When it comes to the primary camera, it supports a video-recording resolution of 2160p. On the other hand, the Moto X and the Nexus 5 come with 10MP and 8MP primary shooters along with 2MP and 1.3MP secondary cameras respectively.
