Motorola Moto G4 Play Isn’t Worth the $150 Price Tag, Device Performs Poorer Than a Moto G 2015!

However, it’s rare to see older hardware outperforming the latest hardware, but that seems to be the case here. You can say that benchmarks are numbers, and it’s the real-world performance that counts. Well, in that aspect, the Moto G4 Play isn’t doing so great either.

It has a single-core GeekBench score of 503 along with a multi-core score of 1267. These figures are lesser than scores offered by the Moto G 2015 (512 and 1283). The device suffers from random lags and stutters when switching between the Home Screen and Google Now. The same is experienced when scrolling through widgets and applications.

In other news, the G4 Play was made official back in May, and it can now be purchased in Canada.

Motorola’s Canada website shows that various carriers like Wind, Bell, Virgin, and TELUS are selling the device for a zero-down on a standard two-year contract, or amidst $199 and $249.

The Moto G Play will be launching on India soon. Motorola India’s Twitter subsidiary revealed that it would be launched on 6th September. Meanwhile, if you are looking for a good Android device at a low price, the Moto G4 and G4 Plus are totally worth it.

Stay tuned for more updates on Motorola Moto G4!
