Motorola Moto G4 Falls a Tad Short from the High Expectations that the Lineup Has Set in the Last 3 Years, And More

The Moto G Play is noticeably less powerful than the two and is more like a kid starter smartphone which justifies the word ‘play’ on its name.

The Moto G4 Plus is obviously at the high end of the new Moto G lineup. It already runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset. It also comes with either a 2GB or 4GB RAM variant.

The pricier 4GB model is paired with either a 32GB or 64GB internal storage while the lower-specced variant has only 16GB of internal storage. However, there is a microSD slot that can expand the internal storage up to 128GB, details Engadget.

The Motorola Moto G4 Plus also feels pretty great in the hand. It is an entirely plastic phone with a nicely textured removable back that hides its non-removable 3,000 mAh battery.

It also features a square fingerprint sensor below the bright 5.5-inch TFT LCD screen that looks like a home button but does not work like one, making the placement feel awkward and clumsy too.

The 16-megapixel rear-facing camera seems impressive and is actually one of the main differences it has on the Moto G4, which only features a 13-megapixel snapper. Both lenses also sport phase-detect and laser autofocus features.
