Motorola Moto G2 vs. Apple iPhone 5S: Comparison Between Two Different Phones from Two Different Price Brackets

The Motorola Moto G2 is a new phone that was announced on September 2014 and also released in the same month. The phone is a great mid-range device and comes with many different features that make it one of the best in the smartphone middleweight category.

On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 5S, once a flagship device is still one of the best performing phones in the market with its powerful chipset architecture. Let’s compare these two phones based on their technical specifications and various other features.

Display:

The Motorola Moto G2 comes with a great 5 inch, 720p display with 294ppi density. It comes with an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that supports 16M color definition. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 serves as the principal protection for the display. It is also a complete multi-touch device just like the iPhone.

The iPhone 5S is a bit more sophisticated in terms of the display but pretty smaller at 4.0-inches when you compare it with the Moto G2. The display resolution comes at 640 x 1136 pixels, which Apple considered to be an optimal resolution for your eyes during the release of this device.

It comes with Apple’s highly popular Retina Display feature that includes a LED Backlit IPS-LCD touchscreen of the capacitive variety. The pixel density is 326ppi, which for the iPhone 5S is slightly higher than that of the Moto G2 and rarely discernible with the naked eye. Besides the Gorilla Glass, it also comes with an additional oleophobic coating which is absent in the Moto G2.

Storage:

When it comes to the storage aspect, both phones have totally different things to offer. The Motorola Moto G2 comes with an 8/16GB Internal memory with a micro SD slot that allows an expansion up to 32GB. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 5S is completely devoid of any expandable memory slot but features many variants of 16/32/64GB. The Moto G2 comes with a 1GB RAM while the iPhone 5S has a 1GB DDR3 RAM in it.

In the camera department, both phones have the same category camera with an eight megapixel primary shooter with 3264 x 2448 pixels along with the autofocus feature present in it. The camera in the Moto G2 has a LED flash which is triumphed by the Dual LED Flash with Dual Tone feature in the Apple iPhone 5S. The 2 MP Secondary camera offered in the Moto G is higher than that of the 1.2 MP camera provided by the iPhone.

Processor:

In the performance department, the Motorola Moto G2 comes with a quad core CPU chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. In the iPhone 5S, you can notice Apple’s own powerful Dual Core Motion A7 64-bit architecture.
