Motorola Moto 360 Offering Leather Strap In Four Colors!

Motorola launched into the smartwatch game a little while ago with the Moto 360. The new gadget launched about half way through last year and came only with a stainless steel and black and grey Horween leather strap. For those of you that picked up the Moto 360 last year and are sick of the same old band, the news this week should be good for you. According to online sources, Motorola is going to offer new leather straps and this time in four new colors.

The company that is making the bands also makes covers for iPads and Google Cardboard kits. When the new bands are available, you will be able to choose from tan, dark green, dark blue and red leather. Even though you might be excited to get hooked up with a brand new smartwatch band in a new color, you might be a little shocked at the price. Some sources claim the price is going to be $60, or double what you would pay for the Horween Leather option.

Most of the consumers are going to have a hard time paying that much for a leather band, but the new colors are likely to get some attention. Since the first smartwatch was released, the talk has always been surrounding personalization of the device. Up to this point, there have only been a few standard bands release with the device, only to see “premium” option released later on down the road.

Other smartwatches that are on the market include one from ASUS, called the ZenWatch. That one comes with a very comfortable, leather strap as a default and the consumers responded with praise for the company. Apple is expected to release a smartwatch and according to some sources, that watch will have more than 30 combinations between watch and strap that a user can choose from. Apple is going to make the rest of the smartwatch companies come up with new designs which is something that is good for consumers.

If you are not familiar with the Moto 360, the watch features the new Android Wear operating system, which is a watered down version of the Android operating system. The watch also features a 1.5-inch LCD display that comes with a 320×290 resolution, 4GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM. Most smartphones are coming with supped up processors and they are quite different than those on a smartwatch. The Moto 360 comes with the TI OMAP 3 CPU and that is powered by a nice 320mAh battery that should get you through a few days before needing a charge again.
