Many tech fans were expecting to see the Moto 360 2 launched at the Google I/O developer conference, but we got no such thing – not even a mention of the device, much to the disappointment of those who were following the event primarily because of the watch. So far, we have no idea when the new Moto 360 2 is going to be launched, nor any specific details about its hardware. There are some vague reports about the launch period during the year, but that’s about it.
Current rumors indicate that Motorola are gearing up for the release during the summer, and more specifically the watch should be out by September. So far this hasn’t been stated as an official release date by the company, so it should be taken with a grain of salt, but it does look somewhat plausible, especially considering the fact that this would be a good period for the release of the watch.
And it would indeed be a very welcomed release on the market, as Android Wear has recently received a great update that added various extra features, but it’s been somewhat lacking in the hardware department, as there are not many recent watches that offer good specifications to their users.
Even the LG Watch Urbane is not top watch in terms of hardware, and the platform desperately needs a new addition right now to win the hearts of users. And if Motorola just fix some of the small issues that the Moto 360 originally had, it would be a great new watch to fill this gap at the moment.
The Moto 360 suffered from some problems with its hardware, but it was overall a fantastic watch and was hailed for its performance by most critics and fans. Many were fond of its round design and the detailed UI, as well as the overall focus on quality from Motorola’s side. The company seems to have the right idea when it comes to developing a solid smart watch, and they don’t need to put too much effort into coming up with a creative design that works for the Moto 360 2, it’s pretty much already cut out for them.
All they need right now are minor improvements such as giving the device better specifications and making it more durable, while also possibly increasing its battery life, and it will be golden. They don’t have to put a lot of effort into marketing the new watch either, as all this hype that surrounds it right now means that its marketing is practically already there.
