Motorola Droid Turbo Sees Mixed Reception, Still Good Choice for Business Users!

The release of the Motorola Droid Turbo wasn’t exactly as successful as the company was hoping, and the phone was met with some mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. While it’s definitely an improvement in the line, and a relatively good offer for its price, some critics were quick to point out certain flaws with its design, and have commented that they expected more for the device’s price.

The phone certainly has some strong qualities, and this shouldn’t be ignored – it’s fast, relatively small, and has excellent battery life. In fact, the durability of its battery has been commended particularly by most critics, and the general consensus is that this is a great device for frequent travelers just for that feature alone. And considering that it runs on a 2.7 GHz processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a dedicated GPU, achieving long battery life is actually an impressive feat.

It’s also reportedly a very capable multimedia device, with a relatively large display and a good camera with a 21 megapixel sensor. Users with a more active social media presence should definitely enjoy what the phone has to offer in this regard.

However, there have also been some negative comments regarding certain aspects of the phone’s design. Its visual style is one thing that many critics have been pointing out specifically, and indeed, the Motorola Droid Turbo does look a bit outdated for a 2014 phone. This will not matter to everyone, sure – and business users in particular don’t tend to care too much about aesthetics in general – but it’s still important to note that the phone is not the most stylish offer on the market right now.

The large battery can also be seen as a downside and not just a positive feature – the problem is that the battery has to be physically large in order to reach its high power capacity, resulting in a very bulky phone design. While other manufacturers are trying everything they can in order to make their phones smaller and slimmer, Motorola have gone in the exact opposite direction, with a phone that could have been released several years ago with these dimensions.

Motorola Droid Turbo

All in all, it seems that the new Droid Turbo is a good choice for business users, travelers, and others who don’t particularly care about aesthetics too much, but insist on a good set of features. It’s not the cheapest phone on the market, but it’s also not a high-end expensive model, and it definitely has a good potential for the price Motorola are asking for it. If aesthetics matter to a user too much though, they should probably look elsewhere.

  1. The signal reception in mine is worse than my iphone 4s. Also died in 40deg weather with 68% battery. Disappointed.
