Motorola Droid Turbo Brings some Serious Power to the Table!

Motorola have really outdone themselves with the new Droid Turbo, according to reports, as the device offers even more power than it was originally anticipated. It’s been known for a while that the company is looking to introduce a serious offer to the Android market, but even the most tech-savvy users might be surprised to find out what the new phone packs behind its shiny screen.

In terms of specifications, it’s quite close to the iPhone 6 Plus or LG G3, according to reviewers, and it even outdoes the competitors in many regards. The phone has a 5.2 inch screen running at a 2560×1440 Quad HD resolution, offering crystal clear image quality and excellent response time. Reports indicate that the screen’s touch matrix is actually with a remarkably fine resolution, making it capable of recognizing input on a very precise level.

The phone is also quite sturdy, with a Kevlar-toughened body – yes, that’s right, the new Motorola Droid Turbo uses the same material that bulletproof vests are made from. In addition, it’s covered in water repellent, which adds a layer of water protection to the package as well. Reports claim that the phone can survive being submerged underwater completely for quite a while, although it’s probably best not to test this with one’s own phone at home.

And with its quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.7 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in storage, this device is no joke and can handle any serious Android app the user throws its way. It’s strange to see that it ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat though, considering that it should easily be able to handle the latest version of the operating system, but Motorola have stated that an upgrade to 5.0 Lollipop is in the works and is coming at some point after the device’s release to the market. The company hasn’t given a specific release date for the update though, but hopefully they aren’t going to delay it for too long, given that Google are already moving forward with other updates to the operating system. It’s also not known if Motorola’s initial update will be for Android 5.0, 5.0.1 or a later version.

Costing just $599, the phone is a great offer for Android fans who want a serious device that can handle any kind of application with ease, and given Motorola’s reputation as a manufacturer, it makes complete sense to trust the company in the long term with regards to post-release support and updates for the operating system. There are several devices on the Android market right now that can be classified as “powerhouses”, and this one definitely ranks high on that list.
