Motorola Droid Turbo 2 October Release to Complete 2015 Smartphone’s Roster on a High Note!

Save the best for last is what seems to be the mantra to be taken by the American smartphone maker Motorola for its planned release of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2, which shall be rebranded and called as Motorola Moto X Force when it comes out in the US retail market next month.

The Droid Turbo 2 shall actually complete the smartphone roster of Motorola for 2015 and given its predecessor’s status as the flagship smartphone of the company, it is expected to take over the reign as the company’s latest flagship handset when it comes out next month.

Motorola has released three smartphones already in the last two months including the Moto X Style, the Moto X Play, and the Moto G3 or the Moto G 2015, and it is finishing everything off this year on a high note by releasing the continuation of the Droid Turbo series, notes the Ecumenical News.

According to previous reports, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be released in the European and Chinese markets in December but its version in the US has indeed been confirmed for release next month as Moto X Force.

However, the latest flagship smartphone of Motorola will only be available in the US exclusively through Verizon Wireless but only initially as the American tech company would surely like other US carriers to also join in on the act and take advantage of the popularity, marketability, and saleability of the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 or the Moto X Force.

Power under the hood

According to Upleaks, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will have the same specifications and appearance as that of the Motorola Moto X Force. The only difference is that the Droid Turbo 2 will certainly carry the Verizon Wireless logo in it, notes the GSM Arena.

The second iteration of the Motorola flagship smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor and shall feature a 5.43-inch QHD display. It shall have a 3GB of RAM and shall come in either a 32GB or 64GB storage, a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper, and a generous 3,760 mAH battery.

As previously reported, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will also come out as a shatterproof smartphone.

The rumors about the upcoming Motorola Droid Turbo 2 have constantly been piling up, but none can be more exciting to consumers than reports saying that the device would come with an unbreakable display screen.

Now that is something that big players like Apple or Samsung still has not come up with in their current line of smartphone and mobile devices.

Indicative that rumors about the display screen of Motorola Droid Turbo 2 being unbreakable are true was further fuelled when reports came out that the American smartphone maker is calling the prototype unit as the Motorola Bounce. Everyone knows that anything that bounces is unbreakable or made of rubber, but no detail has been released yet regarding the material that Motorola will use for its upcoming flagship smartphone.

The smartphone is also waterproof and it can withstand splashes and light rain. It can also be submerged up to 30 minutes in a maximum of 3.2 feet of water depth and it will still work thereafter.

Its shatterproof and waterproof capabilities are due largely to its rubberized rear and sides. The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 shall be available in three colors including black, red, and white and it is likely that it will come out of the box already with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow on it. It is also estimated that it will have a retail price of $620 when it hits the retail markets in the US.

  1. This is such a marginal improvement over the Droid Turbo. Same 3 GBs of RAM, Same MP camera, a slightly smaller battery, a slightly larger screen. A Snapdragon 810 instead of a Snapdragon 805. Much more of a creep than a leap.

  2. Three other big standout features: the front facing camera has a flash, the phone uses LPDDR4 RAM, and it’s water (splash) resistant.
