NetherRealm still have a lot of respect from their fans, even if they did mess up the release of “Mortal Kombat X” on the PC quite a bit. The studio can still make it up to those who are loyal to them, and one good release can easily help them regain the attention they’ve lost.
Which is important, because if the studio wants to continue this franchise, they should definitely make up for their past mistakes first, and make it clear to their community that they care about the quality of their games.
Otherwise, we expect that “Mortal Kombat 11” – or however it’s called – will be a failure not just on the PC (if that platform is targeted), but on consoles as well. After all, gamers are a unified community, even if there is a friendly rivalry of sorts going on between the different platforms.
We will be following the studio’s progress on the “Mortal Kombat XL” PC port, as well as the upcoming third DLC for the game closely. When “XL” hits Steam it’s very likely to climb to the top of the best-sellers charts quite fast if the game is worth its money, and there will be a lot of buzz about it all over gaming communities, so there should be no shortage of impressions from dedicated fans.
