Mortal Kombat has been around for a very long time in terms of video game life cycles are considered. Starting way back in 1992, Mortal Kombat has been released for just about any and all consoles on the market and is available in some video game arcades around the world. Warner Bros. operates the franchise now since it took over when the original studio went bankrupt many years ago. The game just underwent a reboot in 2011 and the popularity of it picked up right where it left off.
Mortal Kombat X is the latest game in the series and during the development it was announced that fans would love to see Jason Voorhees as an optional character to play in the game. The character addition would eventually gain traction and according to reports, you will be able to play as him on May 5th.
Those that ordered one of the most recent downloadable content packs will be able to use Jason Voorhees in the game, according to the NetherRealm Studios. Another source that posted online about the topic claims that it was the $30 Kombat Pack is the one that will give access to Voorhees. About one week later, the rest of the players will be able to purchase the downloadable content pack with access to him.
Most of the games that are available to play these days come with DLC and gamers are happy with that because it keeps the game filled with fresh content, new weapons, maps, characters and other things. At this point, there has not been any footage of Jason Voorhees in terms of gameplay, but once that early access starts, you can bet that YouTube will be filled with footage. That way you can get a good look at what you can expect while using him as your main character.
Mortal Kombat is still going to be a fighting and even though it would be a tough play against him in real life, the price that you are paying needs to be justified by the fact that he can hold his own during matches with other characters. Like most of the other characters in the game, Jason is likely to have plenty of moves to use and power moves to put you out of commission as well. As of right now it is not certain what those moves are going to be.
