More Information about Assassin’s Creed: Victory Leaked, Ubisoft Aren’t Taking a Serious Risk with New Title!

Ubisoft have given up on trying to hide information about “Assassin’s Creed: Victory” too much, it seems, as even more leaks have made their way to the public. And the picture that’s being painted about the game right now puts it in a questionable spot. On one hand, it seems that Ubisoft are treading carefully, but on the other, this might hurt the game’s potential a little too much, as the company doesn’t seem fond of taking any serious risks with its gameplay.

The general consensus among critics discussing the leaks right now seems to be “more of the same”, and it’s easy to see where they’re coming from. Even though the game will feature a radical new setting that should shake things up a bit, its gameplay doesn’t seem to be aiming for anything drastically different from its predecessors, which, depending on personal views, can be either a good thing or a bad thing. Of course, it also depends on the exact extent to which the gameplay has been unaltered from the previous installments, as the “Assassin’s Creed” formula tends to work rather well throughout the series.

The game will reportedly introduce some new combat mechanics, and will attempt to make fighting a little more intuitive than its predecessors. This has actually been a common complaint against the more recent installments in the game, as most fans were of the opinion that the combat has been getting a little too dull and clumsy for a game of this age.

Hints about the game’s protagonist indicate that he’s male, and while the game will still focus on blending in with crowds efficiently, the main character’s choice of clothing seems rather questionable in this context. It’s not known if the leaked screenshots are showing the character wearing just a temporary change of clothes, or if that’s how he’s going to look throughout the entire game, although the latter option would certainly be a bit unusual.

Assassin's Creed Victory

So far, information about the game has been coming in the form of leaks pretty much exclusively – so when are Ubisoft going to acknowledge the existence of their title and shed some light on it themselves? According to reports, this year’s E3 is when the studio is planning to officially announce “Assassin’s Creed: Victory”, along with a new trailer and a fresh release of details to please the appetite of fans. It’s not known if there will be any hands-on experiences available at the event, although Ubisoft would be wise to hold back a little on showing off the gameplay for a while, until they’re sure they have polished it properly – at least if they’ve learned anything from their past releases.
