There is little chance that a single person in Hollywood or the world was thinking that Frozen was not going to come with a sequel. The movie was one of the highest grossing animated films off all time and has little kids running through stores just to see if there is any new merchandise to buy. Disney would not be making a good decision to end that franchise before it even started. Over the last week or more rumors for the sequel, reportedly called Frozen 2, have been popping up online.
First there was plenty of speculation as to what month the new movie could be expected. Once most of those talking about the rumors figured it was going to be sometime in the early part of next year, it was time to start talking about the plot and things like that. Disney has been keeping pretty quiet about the whole deal, but that is not stopping the loyal fan base from coming up with their own story line.
There is a rumor that the new movie will be following along a darker path compared to the first movie. Since the original was based on a very old fairy tale called The Snow Queen, it would be easy to assume the next film will be darker and could have some kidnapping involved according to at least one source. There was a mirror in The Snow Queen that was used to show the ugly side of people and things. There is also a possibility that could show up in the second Frozen movie.
It looks like most of the speculation would be coming from that original fairy tale at this point, but since Disney has kept quiet on the whole deal, there is nothing confirmed. The Snow Queen also had bee minions to use at her disposal, so that could be included in the new plot as well. If the story line goes along the presumed path, there could be a lot of twists and turns to keep everyone, adults as well, interested.
Most of the audience would be children and their parents and there is always a good chance that the movie stays lighter in nature, rather than going to the dark side of things. The original fairy tale does come out on a positive note so that should be considered before parents are thinking they should not bring there children to the movie in case it is too dark.
