Mohsen Ramezani: Nuclear Talks Helpful for Iran

Iran Nuclear Talks

The Iranian government and European Union have recently started the new round of nuclear talks. Although conservative politicians in Iran are not happy with the process of ongoing negotiations, many believe that nuclear talks are very important for the country.

The United States and Israel have previously accused the Iranian government of pursuing illegal and unclear nuclear program. According to reports, Israeli officials are worried about the progress of Iran’s nuclear plan which may lead to the production of nuclear weapons.

In order to make Iran following international rules with regard to its controversial nuclear program, the U.S. government has imposed a wide range of economic sanctions against Iran. As a result, the Iranian economy is extremely affected by sanctions.

“I strongly believe that Hassan Rouhani’s administration should pursue nuclear talks. Iran needs to negotiate with the European Union in the hope of lifting embargos,” Iranian political analyst Mohsen Ramezani said in an interview with the Master Herald.

It is worth mentioning that Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has already talked with the U.S. President Barack Obama concerning the country’s nuclear programs.

“In my opinion, Iran may also establish friendly and close ties with the United States in future. Unfortunately a large number of MPs and politicians are sensitive to any possible ties with the U.S. government. Iranian politicians have to change their views in this regard, if they are interested in securing the national interests,” Ramezani continued.

The United States and Iran used to enjoy close economic and political ties during the reign of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. However, relations between the two nations stained over various issues following the triumph of the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

“By establishing economic and political ties with the United States, Iran can significantly improve its economy.” Mohsen Ramezani concluded.
